Re: goodbye indiana!
Tue, August 16, 2005 - 1:11 PMi'm in the middle.
i left indiana sunday, never to return except maybe to visit my dad.
but i'm not yet settled in chicago either. no apt, no job. so i'm in the middle, living with my freshly-moved mom et al in the middle of nowhere 1.5 hours northwest of the city.
it's easier than it sounds to find a job in this town. -

Re: goodbye indiana!
Tue, December 13, 2005 - 1:06 PMhow bout an update 4 months late?
finally moved into an apt in the west loop (pretty much downtown). it's big for the money, and i get to have my cat, so that's fun. it's a really neat space actually. haven't quite gotten it to feel like home yet, but soon.
i've been really sick for the past two weeks. nasty case of strep throat coupled with an ear infection that the second dose of antibiotics didn't get rid of.
jobwise, i'm still transitioning. two days after moving into my new apt, after commuting 2 hours one way into the city every day for 2 months, i was fired. luckily i was only not working for a week, as my roommate's catering company was pretty desparate for a receptionist. so now i'm working for pittance in the suburbs where it's an hour or so commute in and out everyday. annoying, especially as i don't trust my car to make it everyday. so i'm looking for something more in the city. i had a couple interviews thursday, but haven't heard anything yet. fingers are crossed.
other than that, i'm incredibly lonely and somewhat miserable. of the three friends that were supposedly in town, one moved to CA the same day i moved into the city, one od'ed and died the same day as well (my cousin), and the other one, well, has been kinda shady and things are weird. but hopefully things will change once i get more established in the city with a job and whatnot. i barely feel like i live there as it is.
needless to say, things have been...well...interesting, but that might be an understatement.
i miss my triblings, btw. how are you all? -
